Similarly to my recent Palm Springs post, I wanted to share this Ojai post as more of an informal photo journal-style article with a few snaps and a rough itinerary of how we spent our time. ![]() So, while we absolutely loved Ojai and definitely can’t wait to go back and stay overnight, we will more than likely be waiting to return until it’s at least 20 degrees cooler…like in November, December or January. It felt like Palm Springs (except there were no pools for us to lounge in all day long while sipping on endless amount of mint tea), and the heat definitely hindered us from exploring fully. We (stupidly) assumed that, because Ojai was a mere 25 minutes in from the coast, it wouldn’t be that hot. It took us all of about 5 seconds to come to our decision, and 30 minutes later we were packed up, in the car and on our way. So, when we woke up Sunday morning, it was a game time decision on if we go or not. We had tentatively scheduled in the idea of a day trip to Ojai last Sunday, but hadn’t made any concrete plans. They feel carefree and relaxing, more spontaneous and less structured, and the days are longer so you have more time to explore. We love road trips and day trips anytime of year, but there’s something especially fun about these types of trips in the summertime. I have no idea why it took us so long to figure out that it wasn’t that far away, but I’m so glad that we finally did. While we had originally been planning to go on a weekend when we could spend the night, we recently realized that Ojai was actually close enough for a day trip from LA (Winning!). Ojai has been high on our list of places to visit. ![]()
